Abstract:
Due to the changes in the country, lately the social,
economic and political life has changed
as well. There have been major changes also in higher education and in the
recent years the number of students of higher education increased rapidly. Parallel to this tendency, it is a special
task of teachers of higher education to find and support talented students.
Within the frameworks of our talent care programme, “whiz kids” are first
consciously selected, then, their skills are tested and finally, they learn
about the exploration program. The young adults are then acquainted with skills
and the awareness necessary for a democratic society as well as they learn
civic behaviour and self-confidence needed for their welfare. This successful
ROP program of the University of Pécs Institute of Geography served this aim,
and it is a new model of education- exploration and tutor- student cooperation.
