Transfer of culture in a situation of national minority – models of socialization of Belorussian minority in Poland

Abstract:

 

In a presentation author, based on sociological research, present a models of socialization toward Polish society in Belorussian minority in Poland.

 

Living in a situation of cultural minority from centuries, creates several different problems of transfer culture from generation to generation. The main question from the perspective of the socialization processes is the question about the identity of the member of the Belorussian culture in Poland. We can observe as well changes in meanings of symbols of the culture, as well changes in style of life of members of Belorussian culture. It is interesting to observe routs and modes that preserve and transfer Belorussian culture from generation to generation.

 

During the presentation author discusses the central values for Belorussian culture in Poland according the type of cultural identity and then present a styles of socialization of Belorussian minority people in Polish society circumstances.
